£340,000 a year salary bbc director

if the bbc have so much money to spare perhaps the could reduce the licence fee.

I think its totaly wrong to pay such an astronomical amount to anyone i dont care how good at the job they are , nobody is worth that much, especially as they are laying of 600 news staff. most working people i know earn less than £20,000 a year and i know many more who cant afford to pay the license fee.

nice to know we are all in this together.

  1. “Chief Executive Officer” and “greed” two words spelt totally differently but to me they mean virtually the same thing.
What massive egos these people have if they think their value to society is more important than the contribution made by many other workers including that of Police Officers who that put their lives on the line every day for a very ordinary level of pay or Airline Pilots who use their multiple skills to transport passengers safely around the world and yet still earn far less than the average C.E.O. of a multinational organisation.
It seems to be common practice to slash workers jobs to reduce costs and then immediately give themselves and their fellow executives a pat on the back and a pay rise for being so clever.
They are not “worth” the millions of dollars many of them get paid, they have just learnt to push normal decent morals to one side and except a salary that far exceeds their true value to society.

  2. Hi Dave, There was a fair bit of editing before I got it right so I’m no novelist (that would be novel) but I really believe the present system is unfair. We need to “keep the bastards honest”. (to use a quote from an old Australian politician).
