EU Referendum: Immigration Senationalism.

Christchurch Constituency Labour Party

immigrants An unfortunate consesus by many.

The last couple of years has seen UKIP and other right populist groups gain some momentum, views on immigration into the UK has become a major issue for the public even though politically and economically it isn’t. This is partly due to the sensationalism that is often headlined in media outlets such as The Daily Mail and The Express, they tend to headline negative imagery of immigrants to push their own agenda, usually removing fact or spinning a ‘fact’ so it can be seen as a negative by readers.

In reality though immigration is positive that should be treated as nothing more than a side issue to maintain and improve controls, except a right populist agenda that has seemingly overtaken a remarkable amount of Britain’s media outlets, has somewhat clouded the judgment of many people often deflecting from the real issue. An open letter to the Disappointed Blairites

Turning the Tide

We appreciate you are disappointed and no one would hold that against you. You’ve made it clear throughout the campaign you didn’t want Jeremy to win. It would look a bit odd now if you told the world he was the best thing since sliced bread. For those of you who have born your disappointment with dignity, and a proud determination not to become a destructive force within the party, we applaud you. You are the true party loyalists. Sadly though, there are some who have leaked despairing letters to the press, retweeted right wing tabloid smear stories against Jeremy Corbyn, or even worse, written them. Only yesterday we read how one MP told a fringe meeting at conference our party is f****d because Jeremy Corbyn is now leader. When you do these…

I’m also wondering how tripling university tuition fees and reintroducing banding in classrooms can possibly indicate a party interested in extending equal opportunities.

“Champions of social justice and opportunities”? Must have been a typo in the transcript: it’s not champions but chancers.

Cameron also claims that the Conservatives are the “party for workers”, and of course…

Our meeting tonight was a great success with many more new members attending, we had a very informative talk from George Gregory on the subject of uniting the conurbation, This is the proposed merger of poole  bournmouth and Christchurch councils.

Also some breaking news  our Treasurer’s daughter has been promoted to the front bench as shadow minister of defence, under Maria Eagle, so a big congratulations to her.
